The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, expressed that during the first quarter of this year, the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) grew 7 percent. This was indicated by him during his intervention before the National Council of Productive Economy for the Los Llanos region, which took place in Apure state.
“Venezuela had growth in the first quarter of this year, of a 7 percent of GDP. We are the ones who are going to grow the most in Latin America. Everything indicates that the eight percent estimated for this year will be exceeded,” which is why he valued the country’s productive forces, by resisting unilateral coercive measures by the United States.
He highlighted that the National Council of Economy, “is an instance for collective reflection” for the construction of an economic model, “that is why we went to those who produce, to know their needs, their criticisms, their proposals and we have integrated the National Economy Council, which was effective.”
“It is a necessary, transversal, efficient and effective instance for public policies, and to redirect a new economy after 930 sanctions were issued against the country’s economic body. When we defined the 18 engines, we defined them with you (the productive forces). This meeting is part of a work methodology, of creating Economic Councils in the regions, for the harmonization of policies, for the design of the 18 engines”, highlighted the president.
Likewise, he indicated that what was left of the Economic War and the sanctions were “losses for everyone, extremism is a criminal path, and no one wants the economic war to return. I acknowledge the business and productive sector for its good sense, we have built consensus and public policies, and thanks to that we have managed to advance towards an economic, political and social peace that today gives concrete results.»
