A total of 2,949 Venezuelans who emigrated from the country for different reasons have been repatriated by the Vuelta a la Patria (Return to the Homeland) Plan, promoted by the Bolivarian Government.

This Sunday the last group of Venezuelans arrived for the moment, coming from Ecuador and who were victims of xenophobia and discrimination in that country.

Out of the 2,949 Venezuelans who have returned with the plan, 2,365 have done so from Brazil, 278 from Ecuador, 190 from Peru, 115 from Colombia and 86 from Argentina, according to figures from the Chancellory of the Republic.

In addition, five compatriots have been repatriated from the Dominican Republic, two from Chile and one person from Panama.

The Vuelta a la Patria program aims to support Venezuelans who emigrated but, after encountering an adverse reality in other nations, now wish to return to Venezuela, with the premise of studying, working for peace and socio-economic prosperity of the nation.

Before the campaign of xenophobia and discrimination against Venezuelans, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, proposed designing a support plan aimed at those who were victims of media manipulation that made them migrate, lose their patrimony and quality of life, so they can return to their country

The Vuelta a la Patria Plan gives priority to cases of greater sensitivity and vulnerability in terms of health, families with children, pregnant women and the elderly.
