The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, urged the food marketing chains and different sectors, in addition to the businessmen to respect the prices that will be agreed upon in the next hours within the framework of Plan 50, in order to defend the salary of the workers of the country.
“I take care of jobs, I take care of salaries, of food tickets, pensions, bonuses, I make the big investment of health protection, education, housing, social protection. What are the owners of the supermarkets and the distribution and wholesale chains looking for? Are they looking for peace, for the economic tranquility, the satisfaction of the needs? “.
“I say to the owners of those wholesale distributors: put yourself right, I give you an opportunity; either you respect the mechanisms of pricing, or the Revolution will take radical measures and then you cannot complain. I tell you this with moral, because I have moral, because I protect the people, and because you are shameless ones, those who increase prices without any justification of costs”.
He urged the Bolivarian Government to deepen efforts to stabilize the national economy: “Just as we have achieved miracles with effort and conscience, we are going to achieve the economic miracle, always with the Constitution and the people ahead (…) we have been fine-tuning the economic program for stabilization, growth and prosperity”, he said.
