Seven women in the executive cabinet: Maduro strengthens protagonist participation of females

“The movement of Bolivarian women, of the Homeland, of Bolívar and Chávez, is extremely happy with this initiative of President Nicolás Maduro. Of the 12 ministers announced, seven are women, that undoubtedly is a very clear sign of the strength of female leadership in the management of government and gives a clear sign of confidence in women (…)”

The statement was made by Marelis Pérez Marcano, vice-president of the Commission for Women’s Rights for Gender Equality and Equality of the National Constituent Assembly, in reference to the changes announced yesterday by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, to advance in this new term of government 2019-2025.

The executive cabinet is made up by Delcy Rodríguez, as Executive Vice President of the Republic; Yomana Koteich, as Minister for Foreign Trade and International Investment; Marleny Contreras, as Minister for Public Works; Stella Lugo, Minister for Tourism; Mayerlin Arias, Minister for Urban Agriculture; Caryl Bertho, Minister for Women; and Evelyn Vásquez, Minister for Water Care.
