The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, said on Thursday that Venezuela was victorious at the meeting of the Organization of American States (OAS), in which the Vice President of the United States, Mike Pence, lobbied Governments in the region in order to expel the Caribbean country from the block, a goal that was not achieved.
“We have passed and resisted the greatest pressure, the greatest aggression that any government in the United States of America has ever done in two centuries, against Venezuela; we have been victorious and champions in the OAS, we have defeated Vice President Mike Pence and the entire aggression team against Venezuela”, celebrated the National President in a broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión.
The Head of State congratulated the Chancellor of the Republic, Jorge Arreaza, and his team, as well as the vice chancellors, for the victory obtained in this organization.
In that sense, he delivered the replica of the Liberator’s sword, Simón Bolívar, to Minister Jorge Arreaza, for the defense of Venezuela at the OAS.
“The OAS is a useless organism, that’s why, from now on, we only have 10 months to go before the deadline is met and, by an autonomous decision of Venezuela, we will definitely leave that useless organism; and on April 27, 2019, I declare it as a Day of Mobilization and Popular Party; We leave the OAS by our own decision”, he said.
