Venezuela advances in the fight against illicit crops

As a result of the public policies of the Venezuelan State, more than 22,000 kilograms of drugs have been seized this year.

This was reported by the National Anti-Drug Superintendent, M/G Richard López Vargas, during the presentation of the 2022 Anti-Drug Balance of Venezuela, at the “2nd International Seminar on the Fight against the World Drug Problem as part of the Security of the Nation”, held at the National Anti-Drug Superintendency (Sunad) in Caracas.

He explained that the 22,000 kilograms of drugs were seized in 4,027 procedures carried out in 1,141 Quadrants of Peace, deployed in the national territory to combat drug trafficking and micro-trafficking, crimes that seriously affect communities.

As a result of the 47 military operations deployed in 2022 by the Strategic Operational Command (Ceofanb) on the border with Colombia, were destroyed 54 unauthorized runways, 37 laboratories and 18 aircrafts.

He added that in the next few days will be published the 2022 Sunad National Drug Report, a document that shows statistical information and details of the great achievements and progress of the nation against the world drug problem.

López Vargas indicated that Venezuela participates in each of the meetings convened by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, the International Narcotics Control Board (INCB), and the Caribbean Financial Action Task Force (CFATF).
