Ángel Rodríguez: Rex Tillerson failed in his attempt to intimidate the military high command

The Deputy to the National Assembly for the PSUV, Ángel Rodríguez, denounced that the United States has been trying for several months to recruit officers of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces to overthrow President Nicolás Maduro, supported by local and foreign mercenary groups, as well as multinational military forces.

“It is a plan designed by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), coordinated with support from officials of the northern country’s Embassy in Caracas. Among the local operators that they use to promote the coup d’état are the political organizations Soy Venezuela, Voluntad Popular, Primero Justicia and Alianza Bravo Pueblo”.

He added that on the orders of the hawks of the US State Department they have tried to attract dissidents by offering them money, protection and US visas, but they have failed in this task, since they have found a patriotic and monolithic military body, willing to give their lives to defend sovereignty and peace in Venezuela.

Rodríguez, who is also a deputy to ParlaSur, stressed that the tour of the State Secretary of the industrial power, Rex Tillerson, was focused on the search for military support from several leaders of the Latin American right wing, to get Maduro out of Miraflores by force, but he did not succeed.

“Tillerson’s efforts to gather support in a multinational military incursion to defeat Chavismo are well known by Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino López and the rest of the Venezuelan military high command, who, in the face of this threat, feel outraged instead of frightened”.

The parliamentarian recalled that the United States has promoted an international media campaign to discredit the FANB, in which the international agencies AP, Reuters, EFE, AFP, Bloomberg, supported by CNN, The Washington Post, The New York Times, the ABC newspaper of Spain, among others.

“They have tried to position without success the false opinion matrix according to which the Venezuelan military systematically violate the human rights of the population. Despite the power that supports them, they have not broken the morale of our soldiers and officers, who with gallantry reject the hegemonic pretensions of the imperial nation”, concluded Ángel Rodríguez.
