Pérez: There must be a relationship of peace between Colombia and Venezuela

“Fortunately, we are a majority those of us who think that between Colombia and Venezuela there must be a relationship of peace, mutual respect and a relationship, in addition, in which self-determination and sovereignty are always present”.

The statement was made by Carolys Pérez, undersecretary of the National Constituent Assembly (ANC), on Monday during an interview on the “Al aire” (On Air) program, broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión.

He added that between both governments it is necessary to build bonds that strengthen integration despite being directed by different political thoughts.

Perez pointed out that nations must work to expand political and economic ties in favor of the growth of both peoples with the aim of guaranteeing quality of life.

The Constituent during the interview referred to the second round of elections that took place in the neighboring country this Sunday where Iván Duque, of the Democratic Center party, was elected, indicating that it is necessary to make a greater effort to maintain respect, all this for the marked tendency of the now president-elect with the uribismo.
