Disarticulated violent plans of Primero Justicia against peace

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, denounced on Thursday that leaders of the Primero Justicia (right-wing) party and other opposition leaders intended to activate violent street actions in the coming days, plans that were dismantled by the country’s authorities.

“Yesterday we captured some lags of the “Guarimbero” (rioter) groups of the capital region and the center of the country; they have been imprisoned and a good part of them have declared already”, explained the Head of State during a journey he leads from Miraflores Palace in Caracas.

He explained that these people wanted to activate a seditious plan in eastern Caracas this Wednesday.

Faced with these facts, he blamed the “Primero Justicia” party, (right wing leader Henrique) Capriles Radonski, the Guanipa brothers (Juan Pablo and Tomás Guanipa) and José Guerra, who are behind the financing and the search for the remaining groups in order to generate violence”.

Between the months of April and July last year, sectors of the Venezuelan opposition activated and financed violent street groups, actions that left a balance of 124 murders and more than a thousand injured.

“Fortunately, the intelligence and security agencies of the country have acted and captured these groups in a preventive manner”, said Maduro.

He also called on the people “to support all peace efforts, because they are trying to fill with violence and have not been able to.”
