Socialism “Is not a particularized phenomenon, which remains on a border. Socialism is a matter of the whole of humanity”, said on Sunday the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, during his program “Los Domingos con Maduro” (Sundays with Maduro) number 96.
In this sense, he recalled the centenary of the Great October Socialist Revolution, which took place on October 25, 1917, according to the Julian calendar, or on November 7, according to the Gregorian calendar, and which was the second phase of the Revolution. Russian 1917, after the February Revolution, and led to the start of the Civil War and the creation of the Soviet Union to defeat the fascism and Nazism that were being born in Europe.
“We have to imbibe above all the initial, creational energy of the Russian Revolution, of the Bolshevik Revolution, because the phenomenon of socialism is a universal, world phenomenon. Socialism cannot be understood only from a single country”, reiterated the Venezuelan Head of State, who continues the socialist process initiated in 1999 by the Commander Hugo Chávez.
President Maduro stressed that before the emergence of the Bolivarian Revolution and the socialist process in Venezuela, the capitalist model, which was believed victorious, saw a threat in the Homeland of Simón Bolívar, for which the imperial powers have undertaken an inordinate attack against Venezuela and its people.
That struggle led by the people in the face of these attacks was recently recognized by the global left that was present in St. Petersburg, Russia, where 100 years of the October Revolution were commemorated, said the Vice President for Social Development and Revolution of the Missions, Elías Jaua
During his speech in the program, Jaua, who, along with constituent Adán Chávez, represented the Bolivarian Revolution in the aforementioned event, mentioned that the global left wing, in addition to “reaffirming their commitment to the construction of another possible world,” reiterated “their support for the struggle for independence and self-determination that our people are waging”.
