Head of State condemns sabotage to municipal elections

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, pronounced on the measures to protect democracy that the National Electoral Council will take along with the National Constituent Assembly, sanctioning the political parties that foment violence against electoral processes, an express request by the Chief of the Zamora 200 Command, Jorge Rodríguez.

“It has been officially requested (…) that the CNE, along with the constituent power, proceed to take draconian measures that could imply the disqualification of the electoral cards of those parties that have called to sabotage the elections and that have been absent from the political, democratic and electoral process”, he said.

During the Council of Ministers 295, held at Miraflores Palace, he highlighted the investigation process led by the Attorney General of the Republic to accuse before the courts the spokesmen of various political avenues that have called for insurrection, committing crimes typified in the penal code, as well as electoral irregularities.

“All my support for the statements and actions that Dr. Tarek William Saab has initiated (…) in Venezuela there must be justice; it is enough that one day they go out to call elections and that another day they go out to burn the country and to sabotage the electoral centers and to call for the destruction of the electoral system. I ask for all the support of Venezuela so that there is justice before these adventurers of politics”, he said.

He denounced that these actions are directed from Washington, after the decisive victory of the Bolivarian Revolution in the regional elections, plus the one that is organized for the municipal elections in December.

“Why do the Gringos give the order? Because they knew that in these municipal elections the Bolivarian forces are going to obtain a great political, electoral, democratic victory”, he said.

He called on the currents of the right wing to stay on the path of democracy, to avoid episodes of violence in the municipal elections.

“If they intend to turn the electoral campaign into a campaign of violence and if they intend to sabotage the day of the elections and the electoral centers, they will pay for it very dearly, because there will be the Attorney General’s Office with all the support of the Government’s weight and of the State to do justice”.

The Head of State, Nicolás Maduro, invited the Venezuelan people to participate in the municipal elections scheduled for December 10 on a massive scale.
