D’Amelio: For municipal elections will join 1.6 million voters from Caracas

For the municipal elections to be held in December, will be used the Electoral Registry cut of July 15, 2017, which has already been audited by the organizations with political purposes, as well as the same board members of the recent regional elections, as pointed out the Director of the National Electoral Council (CNE) Tania D’Amelio.

In an interview granted to the “Al aire” (On Air) program, broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión, she made the reservation that unlike the regional elections in which the voters of 23 states of the country participated to elect the governors of the same number of entities, in the Municipalities will be incorporated voters of Caracas, so they will add approximately 1,600,000 voters.

“I invite all Venezuelans to look up the information on the council’s page, to find out whether or not anyone was drawn as a polling station member, or which is its voting center” that will remain the same with respect to the previous electoral process, she said.

In the interview, the rector referred to the activation this Monday of the CNE online system, so that the authorized political organizations can postulate and upload the data of the candidates to mayors of the 335 municipalities of the country.

In addition, on Monday the regional and municipal electoral boards will be activated and the training of their members will begin. Then, between Tuesday and Wednesday, the presentation of the applications loaded in the automated system will be presented to the respective boards.

In the case of Zulia state, the Electoral Power announced that the election of mayors and governors will be held jointly in December, after the Legislative Council of the entity declared the absolute lack of the governor after the refusal of Juan Pablo Guanipa to be sworn in before the National Constituent Assembly.
