D’Amelio urges political parties to report fraud

“I urge the organizations with political purposes, particularly opposition organizations that are talking about a fraud, to challenge the process. The legislation states in its article 203 that any organizations with political purposes that do not agree with the results, could challenge before the National Electoral Council”.

Showing the data aggregation report, signed by all the opposition political parties that participated in the electoral process of October 15, Tania D’amelio, rector of the National Electoral Council, urged the spokesmen to formalize the complaints, only made until now before the media.

The official recalled that this kind of behavior is recurrent in the opposition, a sector that has shouted a fraud smear in the last electoral processes carried out in the country, in this sense she commented what happened in the Presidential elections, a time when the right wing shouted “fraud” even before making the elections.

She qualified as irresponsible the attitude assumed by this sector, which has tried to transpose its conflict to the Electoral Power “You have to organize because the cause of their conflicts is not the National Electoral Council; the CNE has always respected the will of the Venezuelan people and that has become clear during these last elections … ”

The rector reiterated that the Venezuelan electoral system is the most audited in the world, a process endorsed even by organizations for political purposes of the opposition, and thus she emphasized that the results announced to the country were validated by the members of tables and witnesses of each voting center in the country.
