The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, commemorates on Tuesday the 149th anniversary of Cuba’s National Rebellion Day, when the country’s independence leader, Carlos Manuel de Céspedes, rebelled against the Spanish crown.

Venezuelan Government Commemorates 149th Anniversary of Cuba’s National Rebellion Day

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, on behalf of the Venezuelan Government and the people, joins the commemoration of the 149th Anniversary of National Rebellion Day, where the heroic leader of the independence Carlos Manuel de Céspedes, rebelled before the Spanish crown.

The people and Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, ratifies the historical importance of the uprising in the Demajagua, as the cradle of the struggle for independence of the Cuban people on October 10, 1868, a fact that demonstrated the patriotic sentiment and independence ideals of the Cuban people.

The Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela is pleased to extol this dignified date, and shares the celebration of what was once the emergence of the Cuban independence movement, unleashing the ten-year war against colonial rule.

Today, the Republic of Cuba continues to be a worldwide reference for the dignity and self-determination of a people that did not bend or bow to imperialist blackmail and pretensions.
