Villegas: US makes fake-news to wash face to Trump-Borges blockade

According to the digital version of Miami’s El Nuevo Herald newspaper, the White House would have suspended, at least temporarily, discussions on economic sanctions against Venezuela because of internal concerns about the lack of oil supplies that would affect Americans who are battling with the devastation caused by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma.

The reaction of the Revolutionary Government was not to be awaited, the Minister of People’s Power for Communication and Information, Ernesto Villegas, denied this news he qualified as “fake-news”, on which he details that “it was a propaganda of the empire to wash the face to the Trump-Borges blockade”.

Through his Twitter account @VillegasPoljak, he asserted that: “The infamous blockade and financial persecution of Venezuela are still standing, causing unjust harm to the Venezuelan people”.

“It is also intact he dignified response of the people and the Government of Venezuela, as well as the wave of solidarity that has awakened”, said the minister in another message.

Let’s remember that on August 25 the White House announced the issuance of an executive order signed by the President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, imposing new economic sanctions against Venezuela as part of a systematic attack to the Venezuelan people, who try to undermine the operational and financial capacity of the Bolivarian Government, after the constant reaffirmation of the sovereign and independent character of the South American nation.

In the decree, the US Government prohibits all its commercial and financial partners and US companies or US companies from entering into any agreement or transaction with Petróleos de Venezuela (PDVSA), the main industry that supports the country’s economy.
This new action by President Trump adds to the recent threat to intervene in the sovereign affairs of Venezuela “with a military option” as an additional measure to the economic sanctions already announced, one of them with direct weight in the president of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro.
