President Maduro Solidarizes with Countries Victims of Hurricane Irma

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, expressed his solidarity with the countries that have been victims of Hurricane Irma.

“I want to transmit from here my solidarity with the peoples of the Caribbean who have been flogged and threatened with the passing of Hurricane, Irma, and the ones that are approaching, Jose and Katia”, he said during his appearance before the ANC on Thursday.

The Head of State informed that members of the Venezuelan army and Civil Protection are already in the Islands of Antigua and Barbuda – devastated in 90% by the passage of Hurricane Irma – providing support and solidarity.

He denounced that these meteorological phenomena have gradually increased in quantity and intensity during recent years, as a consequence of climate change.
