Pdvsa and Chevron explore mechanisms to continue successful oil relationship

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, held a working meeting with Chevron’s president for America and Africa, Clay Neff, and with Ali Moshiri, an adviser to Chevron’s CEO, to explore mechanisms to continue the relationship between Pdvsa and Chevron before the sanctions decreed by the Government of the United States against the financial operations of the joint ventures that they have in Venezuela and that had been developing in a very successful manner for both parties.

In the face of the aggression and the insolent and illegal sanctions decreed by Donald Trump against the Venezuelan people, the Head of State communicated to the Chevron executives the willingness of the Bolivarian Government to maintain commercial ties with the North American oil company and the interest of the Venezuelan State in maintain foreign investment in the country, in strict adherence to the Constitution and the inalienable principles of self-determination of our people, sovereignty and the national development.

The high-level meeting also included the executive Vice President of the Republic, Tareck El Aissami; the Minister of People’s Power of Petroleum, Eulogio Del Pino; the Vice President of the Council of Ministers for Planning and Minister of People’s Power for Planning, Ricardo Menéndez and the President of Petróleos de Venezuela, S.A (PDVSA), Nelson Martínez.

President Nicolás Maduro ratified the path of dialogue and the joint search for formulas between the Bolivarian Government and the Chevron company to face this grave situation created by the US Government from the aggression and its alleged financial and commercial blockade.

The Bolivarian Revolution created the figure of the joint ventures for the sovereign development of the largest oil reserve in the world, located in the Hugo Chávez Orinoco Oil Strip.

The representatives of the National Government took the opportunity to reject the American interference against the Homeland of Bolivar and to emphasize the strengths and the commitment of the national oil company with the Venezuelan people.
