The people will have the last word in the perfected Constitution

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, confirmed this Wednesday that it will be the people who will have the last word in the approval of a new Bolivarian Constitution, enlarged and perfected, that will be drafted by the Venezuelans from the ANC.

“Life itself will determine the rhythms. It will be a democratic process of debate and consultation and the Constituent Assembly, along with the people, will determine when the constitutional text will come out. The last voice will always be that of the people”, said the National President, from Miraflores Palace in Caracas.

He reiterated that the ANC has various forms of action, such as constitutional decrees, constituent acts, constitutional laws and the Constitution, debated in the 22 commissions that are responsible for deepening the constitutional text.

“The 22 issues of the 22 commissions of the constitution that we are going to perfect, to expand, to improve the pioneering constitution must be the product of a popular constituent process of reflection, creation and action … until August 2019 Venezuela will have an ANC (…) to protect our country”, he stressed.

The Head of State urged the United States Government to create a constitutional process that will succeed in renewing the laws of that nation, for the construction of a new democratic system.

“I hope the people of the United States would someday have the opportunity to convene a popular constituent process to renew their Constitution, their institutions, their democracy, to improve it, to clean it up of so many lobbies, so many corrupt, so many influence groups”, he expressed.
