Escarrá: Impunity Act was made by sectors interested in pardoning offenders

Constitutional lawyer Hermann Escarrá said the right wing, with the parliamentary majority in the National Assembly warned that the law for impunity, approved in second debate, “is a memorial of grievance, which condones the eventuality of a coup d’etat for the way it is written. ”
When interviewed in the “La Hojilla” (The Blade) program, broadcast by Venezolana de Television, Escarrá said that the right wing does not promote a law for reconciliation, but this “is a law of war, of conflict,” in which are accepted crimes that violate all Human Rights.
He noted that this law was “mainly made by lawyer firms paid by the national capital, by sectors of the national oligarchy extremely interested in pardoning criminals.”
Escarrá said that in this law the Venezuelan opposition is trying to condone any person, both authors and participants, which may have acted in any manner in public incitement, public intimidation, incitement to crime, violence or resistance to authority, damages of any kind of property, fire, closing of roads, concealment of explosive or incendiary items, treason, civil or military rebellion, incitement to civil or military rebellion, crimes generating capsizing, insult to the armed forces, among others.
He noted that the opposition talks about amnesty without even naming the victims, and they call for reconciliation when the President of the Republic, Nicolas Maduro, has repeatedly called for dialogue and work for the homeland, and they have refused to talk, even forgetting that “the crisis they are provoking is actually causing harm to the people, both to the opposition and the Bolivarian people, there is no differences of any kind “.
The Constitutional lawyer also explained that the proposal of the right wing for a waiver -enshrined in the Magna Carta- of President Nicolas Maduro, is impossible because it is a voluntary decision of the Head of State. “Whoever knows Maduro more or less closely, knows that’s impossible. There is no way that may come through the mind of the one to whom Chavez has given the driving and protection of his historical legacy”, he added.
