The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, affirmed that the National Constituent Assembly has been convened with three fundamental objectives.
One, transforming the State: «How many things we do need to transform, and thus build a democratic social State close to the people, that may attend and solve the affairs of life», he explained from a work journey at the Miraflores Palace.
The second is to create a new legal mechanism «In order to end the impunity, one that puts the institutions at the service of a people who wants justice, who wants peace»; and the third one, to draft a new Constitution.
