Hate crimes promoted by the right wing will be punished by Venezuelan legislation

Hate crimes, such as those currently promoted by sectors of the opposition against militants of Chavismo, are punished by Venezuelan legislation.

The statement was made this Monday by the Foreign Minister of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, who along with the Minister of People’s Power for Communication and Information, Ernesto Villegas and the executive secretary of the Commission for Truth, Larry Devoe, offer a press conference on research on fascist violence in the country.

Rodríguez reported that the Commission for Justice and Truth will deliver in the next few days a report to President Nicolás Maduro, with cases of violence and terrorism promoted by the Venezuelan right wing.

The diplomat warned that the expressions of hatred experienced in the country during the last 51 days, when sectors of the opposition activated a seditious plan against the Republic, are encouraged by imperial sectors from abroad.

“Soon we will deliver a report evidencing the cases known by the Truth Commission, which will be incorporated with broader powers in the Constituent Assembly”, she said.

During her speech, the high official showed two videos in which are seen acts of violence against Venezuelans who were identified as Chavistas, and who because of their political condition were brutally attacked.

She also presented a third audio-visual material in which (Henrique) Capriles Radonski can be seen, expressing in rude words and with violence against President Nicolás Maduro.
