This Friday, the Minister of People’s Power for Communication and Information, Ernesto Villegas, revealed how sectors of the Venezuelan right wing manipulate, for political purposes, the circumstances of the deaths of victims of the escalation of violence and terrorism experienced in the latest 51 days.
“The opposition political factors have used the deaths of several Venezuelans for political purposes and seek to directly blame the Venezuelan Government. There are 60 deaths that have occurred in our country”, said the Minister, during a press conference offered by the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry.
One of the cases mentioned was that of Yei Amaro, a police officer from Lara state, which some sectors showed as being an opposition militant.
“There are those who use the pain of relatives to sow a truth that cannot be reversed”, said Villegas.
He added that, according to an investigation carried out by the Ministry of Information about deaths that have occurred in recent weeks by violent groups, there are several people who “were not 8being part of) any demonstration whatsoever”.
He said that, according to figures from the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB), there have been more than 1,600 demonstrations held throughout the country, at least 600 of them violent.
The holder of the communication portfolio took the opportunity to call on the opposition sectors to cease their call for violence in all the scenarios that the country is experiencing.
