In a phone call with the Vice President for Social and Territorial Development, Héctor Rodríguez, the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, highlighted the strength of participatory and protagonistic democracy in Venezuela and announced important updates to the national agenda.
During the contact, the President reaffirmed that the nation’s path is strengthened by the exercise of the organized People’s Power, stating that «the world must know that Venezuela has chosen the path of participatory and protagonistic democracy, exercised by the organized people.»
New Date: National Popular Consultation
In this regard, Rodríguez announced the change of date for the upcoming National Popular Consultation to Sunday, October 18, in order to avoid interfering with the commemoration of Indigenous Resistance Day, which is celebrated in the same month.
«Let’s all prepare for October 18.» “All the community circuits and condominium boards. We already had projects ready; we are going to advance, and on October 18 we will have an election: more democracy, more popular consultation, and more organized citizens for Venezuela (…),” she affirmed.
Renewal of Spokespersons and Community Vacation Plan:
Furthermore, the President celebrated the process of renewing leadership and spokespeople within the community councils to continue consolidating the grassroots organizational structure.
Likewise, she acknowledged the reach of the Community Vacation Plan, highlighting the deployment of recreational activities both in community services and in temporary camps for the benefit of the Venezuelan people.
On another note, she took the opportunity to thank the people and the work teams for the support provided after the recent seismic doublet that affected the nation; specifying that “technical and scientific reports indicate it was the most severe in our whole history.” A truly terrible thing that greatly affected the state of La Guaira and seven other states in the country, including Caracas.»
