From Los Mecedores, Acting President Delcy Rodríguez leads Council of Sectoral Vice Presidents

The Acting President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, led this Tuesday the first Council of Sectoral Vice Presidents of 2026. The meeting took place at the “8 Raíces” Commune, located in the Los Mecedores sector in Caracas.

The work agenda included the participation of the Mayoress of Caracas, Carmen Meléndez, and the Head of Government of Caracas, Nahum Fernández. Also attending were the recently appointed Sectoral Vice Presidents for Communication and Culture, Miguel Pérez Pirela; the Sectoral Vice President for Science, Technology, Ecosocialism, and Health, Isabel Iturria; the Sectoral Vice President for Economy, Calixto Ortega; along with the rest of the cabinet of vice presidents.

This meeting, in which were also present community representatives, allows high-level decisions to originate directly from the heart of the grassroots organization. From the 8 Raíces Commune, the National Executive validates community management as the central axis of this new phase of governance, transforming local needs into integral public policies.

The meeting took place at the Presidential Office in Los Mecedores, the second facility of this kind to be formally installed in the capital. This infrastructure is part of a public strategy to strengthen the link between the State and the people, facilitating the direct articulation with the People’s Power and consolidating the model of participatory and protagonistic democracy.
