FANB reaffirms commitment to the Bolivarian Project on the 34th Anniversary of 4F

Within the framework of the commemoration of the 34th anniversary of the Civic-Military Rebellion of February 4, 1992 (4F), declared National Dignity Day, the Minister of People’s Power for Interior Relations, Justice and Peace and high-ranking member of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), General-in-Chief Vladimir Padrino López, issued an official communiqué reaffirming the unwavering commitment to the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and peace of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

Through the document, Minister Padrino López paid tribute to the «heroic journey of the daring men and women with tricolor armbands,» whose leadership fell to Commander Hugo Chávez, an event described as a historical turning point that awakened social consciousness and marked the beginning of the path towards the Bolivarian Project.

National Dignity Day!… Thus it was etched in the collective memory that dawn of February 4, 1992, when a brave soldier interrupted the course of history to catapult himself with the honorable and resolute phrase: «Unfortunately, for now, our objectives have not been achieved.» This forceful expression became a rebellious cry for future struggles against the neoliberal economic policies that subjected the Venezuelan people to poverty, misery, and exclusion, a prelude to the national project, which years later took the form of a peaceful, participatory, and protagonist revolution, based on the principles of the National Constitution of 1999, with which Venezuela became a democratic and social State of Law and Justice.

It was with this civic-military rebellion, inspired by the most advanced ideals of Bolívar, Simón Rodríguez, and Zamora, that was achieved to awaken the social consciousness to guide the Republic towards a new destiny. Therefore, the commemoration of this date invites us each year to a critical and profound reflection on how a setback or eventual misfortune can become the foundation, strength, and impulse to achieve a supreme objective. Hence, the United Liberating Army of the independence era, today the Bolivarian National Armed Forces of the 21st century, continues to demonstrate its irreducible resilience and the virtue of strengthening itself in the face of adversity, thus transforming difficulties into valuable opportunities to sow future victories.

Thirty-four years after the heroic journey of the daring men and women with the tricolor armband, we reaffirm our commitment to continue forging the Bolivarian Project that is currently led by our Commander-in-Chief, Delcy Eloina Rodriguez Gómez. Just as in times past, we the sons and daughters of Bolívar and Chávez, with their honor and dignity intact, reaffirm the determination to continue defending the sovereignty, integrity, and peace of this beautiful Nation.

LONG LIVE THE 4F!… DAY OF NATIONAL DIGNITY! Chávez Lives!… The Homeland Continues!

Independence and Socialist Homeland!… We will live and we shall overcome! The Sun of Venezuela rises in the Essequibo! Independence or Nothing… Always Loyal… Never Traitors!”

Caracas, February 4, 2026
