Death toll rises up to 3,535 and there are 16,740 injured registered after June 24 earthquakes

This Monday, the President of the National Assembly (AN), Jorge Rodríguez, presented via his Telegram channel an update on the situation following the two earthquakes that struck the country on June 24, reporting that the death toll had risen to 3,535. Likewise, he indicated that the number of injured had reached 16,740.

Moreover, he specified in his daily report that 6,462 people had been rescued so far, and that 86,794 families and 25,016 patients had received assistance.

Regarding people who were left homeless by the seismic contingency, the parliamentarian indicated that there are 17,854. He added that in total there are 856 buildings registered as affected, and 190 of them collapsed. He also indicated that as of Monday 1,048 aftershocks had been registered.

Regarding the distribution of rescue equipment, he detailed that there are 4,338 international rescuers, 29,567 officers deployed, and 27,930 volunteers.

Likewise, Jorge Rodríguez reported that in response to the emergency 9,603 tons of food and 8,130,036 liters of water have been distributed.

Finally, the also president of the High Staff of Temporary Camps informed that a total of 82 of these camps have been installed to assist those affected throughout the country.
