Acting President Delcy Rodríguez led this Tuesday an inspection tour to assess compliance with environmental protection measures and sustainable tourism practices in Falcón state. During her intervention at the Morrocoy National Park, she addressed recent political events and reaffirmed her commitment to the country’s constitutional order: “In the darkest hours of the early morning of January 3, the first thing I said as Executive Vice President was: I will not betray President Nicolás Maduro; and the second thing I said was: I will not betray the People of Venezuela.”
She noted that these statements are part of official records documenting the National Executive’s response to situations of institutional pressure: “Of that there are records that will remain for history and will be made public in due course,” she affirmed. She explained that this criteria of loyalty rules the making of decisions in public administration, including the management of natural resources and protected areas within the national territory.
Within the framework of the technical inspection, Acting President Delcy Rodríguez ruled out a closing of the Morrocoy National Park as a measure to address environmental imbalances detected after the Carnival holiday. She stated that the authorities’ strategy is based on implementing controlled regulations and the use of technological tools. In this regard, she announced the creation of a mobile application for pre-registering visitors, with the goal of organizing tourism activities for the 2026 Easter season.
