The Foreign Minister of Venezuela, Oliver Blanco, affirmed this Thursday at the 30th Ibero-American Summit that the process of democratic transformation, spearheaded by President Delcy Rodríguez, represents an opportunity for the entire region.
“A more integrated Ibero-American region can accompany Venezuela’s rebirth, and this reborn Venezuela can expand the opportunities for our entire community,” he expressed.
Blanco noted that the country is advancing in national reconciliation, institutional reconstruction, and economic recovery. Among these advancements, he cited the promotion of an Amnesty Law, which benefits more than 8,000 people, the restoration of access to 38 informative web portals, and cooperation with human rights organizations, alongside reforms such as the one to the «Law Against Hatred” and other on which there is work underway.
Chancellor Blanco highlights regional potential for integration and trade:
The Chancellor advocated for complementarity as a mechanism for progress:
“The Ibero-American region represents an extraordinary human, economic, and productive potential. Its greatest strength lies in the complementarity of our economies, energy and natural resources, agricultural and industrial capabilities, human talent, skills, and knowledge.”
He emphasized that these elements can be translated into greater opportunities through trade, productive investment, and cooperation, noting that “it is not just about the agreements we sign, but about the lives we are able to improve.” Likewise, he pointed out that Venezuela’s geographic location and its links to both Latin America and Europe offer unique opportunities to strengthen trade and regional integration.
