U.S. evaluates to retire obstacles to ship Venezuelan oil to India

The United States government is evaluating the elimination of obstacles stemming from unilateral sanctions to allow India to increase its refining of Venezuelan oil, according to statements by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, as reported by the TASS news agency.

During an official visit to the Asian nation, the U.S. official indicated that India has both the capacity and the willingness to process larger volumes of Venezuelan crude, noting that there are regulatory hurdles linked to coercive measures that must be addressed to facilitate this trade flow.

Likewise, Rubio highlighted that Indian companies maintain operational concessions in Venezuelan territory, which presents a technical opportunity to increase production levels in a progressive manner. This announcement coincides with projections of the arrival to Indian ports of 13.6 million barrels of Venezuelan crude during the month of October, a figure that constitutes the largest volume of supply registered to that destination in the last two years.
