The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, received this Tuesday at Miraflores Palace the Regional Director for Latin America and the Caribbean for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Michelle Muschett. Muschett is on an official visit to the country from September 13 to 16, 2026.
The work agenda has as its primary objective to review UNDP support actions regarding post-earthquake recovery, strengthen cooperation with the nation within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and participate in the official presentation of the results of the Post-Disaster Needs Assessment (PDNA) process.
This official mission began on Sunday, September 13, with coordination meetings regarding the progress of international cooperation in Venezuela.
During the visit is highlighted the immediate response provided by the UNDP following the earthquakes of last June 24, 2026; when were activated technological tools that have enabled the national government to simulate scenarios, prioritize interventions, and support the implementation of the Dignified, Safe, and Inclusive Recovery Plan.
Likewise, the technical findings of the PDNA contribute in full articulation with the «Venezuela Renace» (Venezuela Reborn) Plan, which seeks to translate the evaluations of needs into concrete reconstruction and sustainable development projects for the well-being of the citizenry.
