“Venezuela has the world’s largest oil reserves, but it ranks the 20th as an exporting country. What good are these riches if we don’t develop them? We want to be the country with the largest reserves, yes, but we also want to be a producing power and for that production to translate into the happiness of the Venezuelan people, of the workers in the industry,” expressed the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez.
In that regard, during a meeting with the country’s oil industry workers, she added that “these have been arduous months of negotiations, arduous, difficult, but we never lost sight of our goal; our goal is the happiness of our people, it is for our workers to have better salaries, for their families to live better lives, for hospitals to be well-equipped, for schools to have quality education.”
“We want and have focused on the welfare state envisioned by Bolívar in his Angostura Address, to become a reality, the greatest possible sum of happiness. That is what inspired us during these months of arduous negotiations, and we reached a bilateral agreement with the United States government,” she added.
Also, the head of state indicated that these recently signed contracts with various companies “will shape Venezuela’s energy development, positioning it within the international energy landscape. We are signing agreements to develop green spaces; we are not only shaping the future of Venezuela, but also the contribution Venezuela will make to the world, to the international energy security, and to the balance of the global economy.”
