Two months after the devastating seismic movements reported on June 24, the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, presented an integral balance on the labor of social assistance and national habitat rehabilitation.
During her address, the President detailed that, through the implementation of the Dignified and Safe Clearance Plan, carried out in coordination with local teams, international technicians, and specialists from the United Nations (UN), has been completed the removal of 28% of the debris from the affected areas, representing approximately 580,000 tons cleared under environmental protection protocols.
In matters of housing, the Head of State reported on the allocation of 335 brand-new homes, directly benefiting 1,172 people, as well as the comprehensive rehabilitation of an additional 1,001 properties, benefiting another 3,503 citizens.
Rodríguez assured that the institutional goal contemplates to deliver more than 4,000 additional homes before the end of this year, guaranteeing ongoing support for families still in shelters or temporary transit following the natural disaster.
«These debris are not simply materials that must be removed. There were homes, memories, and, in some cases, the entire history of a family. That is why we are doing this work with respect and dignity as we advance in the recovery of each community,» affirmed Rodríguez.
