Venezuela resumes exchanges at technical forums of the global oil sector

Venezuela resumed its exchanges at technical meetings of the global oil sector with its participation in the Strategic Forum Empowering Venezuela: Energy, Investment & Opportunity, held in Houston, United States, as highlighted this Tuesday the Minister for Hydrocarbons Paula Henao.

The Venezuelan delegation presented opportunities related to hydrocarbon resources, the legal framework for investments, and the mechanisms available for developing energy alliances.

During the activity, Venezuelan representatives participated in a panel discussion with U.S. Under Secretary of Energy Kyle Haustveit.

Henao explained that the meeting allowed them to showcase the country’s oil capabilities and the investment opportunities associated with its reserves.

«We are here demonstrating the potential that Venezuela offers, and together with the U.S. Department of Energy, we are making a balance of this work journey,» she stated.

The minister highlighted that the participation also facilitated exchanges with geoscientific communities, companies, and organizations specializing in geology and geophysics, with an emphasis on technology transfer and cooperation.

Signing of a Productive Participation Contract:

As part of the agenda, Venezuela signed a Productive Hydrocarbon Participation Contract (CPPH) with the Hunt company, aimed at the development, recovery, and scaling up of crude oil production.

Likewise, was signed a framework alliance with SLB for training and technological sovereignty, which includes the incorporation of technologies, reservoir characterization, artificial intelligence, and specialized training for the sector.

For his part, the Chargé d’Affaires of Venezuela in the United States, Johann Álvarez Márquez, noted that the delegation presented the new regulatory framework and the progress made in the sector’s reconstruction following the June 24 earthquakes to the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG) and the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG).
