The President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, reported through her social media accounts that early Tuesday morning was registered an earthquake of magnitude greater than 4. The seismic movement had an epicenter located in the state of La Guaira.
The Head of State emphasized that the Civil Protection System is fully activated throughout the country: «Our Civil Protection System is activated and carrying out the corresponding monitoring and follow-up.»
Likewise, she also confirmed that, so far, there are no reports of damages of any kind. Finally, she reiterated her commitment to remain vigilant to guarantee the safety of the entire Venezuelan people.
In a statement also published on social media, Funvisis indicated that the seismic event occurred at 3:07 a.m. local time this Tuesday, with its epicenter located 10 kilometers northwest of La Guaira, at a depth of 10 kilometers.
The coordinates of the event were determined to be 10,640 degrees north latitude and 67,011 degrees west longitude, as specified the official source.
