The National Government reported that this Monday, August 10, at 2:44 p.m., Venezuela registered its highest electricity demand so far in 2026, reaching 15,625 megawatts (MW), the highest level recorded in the last eight years.
According to records, this behavior of the demand represents a 3.6% increase compared to the peak recorded in 2025, due to the high temperatures in the country and the economic growth that maintains its impulse.
Given this scenario, the Ministry of People’s Power for Electrical Energy (MPPEE) and the National Electric Corporation (CORPOELEC) are continuously monitoring the facilities that make up the National Electric System (SEN), as well as also carrying out stabilization work in order to guarantee a continuous and balanced supply.
Likewise, the National Executive urges citizens to participate consciously in the use of electrical energy, with the purpose of mitigating the consequences of the El Niño phenomenon in the country.
