In the search for strategies to address the energy consequences of the El Niño phenomenon, representatives from the Mational Government and the private sector held a work session to contribute to the National Savings Plan.
The Sectoral Vice President for Public Works and Services, Juan José Ramírez, indicated that the meeting, held at the instruction of the President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, in conjunction with the productive sector, also assessed the consequences of the June 24 earthquakes.
The Sectoral Vice President stated that a call was made to the productive sectors to reduce electricity consumption and implement emergency energy measures to overcome the electricity generation gap in the country resulting from the earthquakes.
Likewise, Ramírez indicated that the public sector is joining the plans to reduce consumption, while reiterating the upcoming addition of 600 megawatts (MW) from Planta Centro, a maneuver that will strengthen the national electricity system.
