The President of the General Staff for the Creation of Temporary Camps, Jorge Rodríguez, presented on July 19 the official detailed report on the national situation following the recent earthquakes.
The figures reflect a coordinated humanitarian relief effort, with a death toll of 5,208, 16,740 injured, and 6,462 people rescued to date. The operational deployment includes 30,989 officers, 31,745 volunteers, and 2,278 international rescuers, who are working together to assist the 128,324 affected families throughout the country.
Assistance to those affected people is advancing through the establishment of 107 temporary camps, where remain 23,820 citizens, while the number of people without homes has reached 17,907. In the subject of infrastructure, the registry records 856 affected buildings and 190 collapsed structures.
Given this situation, authorities are maintaining constant monitoring after 1,388 aftershocks were registered since the start of the emergency, thus ensuring their capacity to respond to any further eventuality.
Regarding direct assistance, the contingency plan is distributing 10,964.97 tons of food and 35,688,968 liters of water to guarantee food security and the vital supply to the communities. Additionally, the health system reports providing integral care to 39,935 patients at the various health deployment sites.
