In a recent interview given to Spanish journalist Javier Negre, the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, made a balance of her management following the events of last January 3, emphasizing that her work has been strictly guided by her commitment to the Venezuelan people.
Rodríguez stated that her priority has been to guarantee peace, tranquility, and the social and economic well-being of the nation: «I haven’t done anything extraordinary beyond what I promised to Venezuela. I swore to maintain peace and tranquility, I swore to work for the social and economic happiness of Venezuela, I swore for the children who are the future of this country, and from there I have established a work agenda, an agenda of international economic cooperation,» explained the Head of State.
When consulted about foreign relations, the National Dignitary stated that, with regard to the United States government, her administration has chosen to resolve any disputes exclusively within the diplomatic sphere. She affirmed to feel comfortable in leading this agenda of cooperation and dialogue, reaffirming that the Venezuelan people is, above all, a people of peace who bets on stability as the fundamental axis for the nation’s development and prosperity.
Finally, Rodríguez emphasized that Venezuela has achieved to open spaces of understanding with the international community and reaffirmed that her administration will remain focused on demonstrating that cooperation is both possible and necessary, thus consolidating a model of governance dedicated to building solutions and strengthening the stability of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela within the global scenario.
