The Minister of People’s Power for Public Works, Juan Luces, held a strategic meeting with representatives of the United Nations Development Programme in La Guaira State. The institutional meeting was led by international delegate Luis Francisco Thais, representing the United Nations Organization (UN).
The binational work session had as its main objective to design and implement a joint reconstruction plan following the recent national seismic event. The technical strategy will immediately prioritize the stabilization and optimization of public services networks in the coastal state as well as in other affected regions.
During the technical work sessions, the authorities mutually identified nine priority areas that will be addressed progressively during the emergency. Engineering committees evaluated existing ministerial tools with the aim of accelerating a dignified, safe, and inclusive civil recovery.
This international deployment responds to the guidelines issued by the President in Charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, within the framework of the Venezuela Renace Strategic Plan. The national technical staff and UN experts will hold ongoing work sessions to share operational progress with the organized communities.
