The number of people rescued after the double earthquake on last June 24 has risen to 6,461. Thus was reported by the President of the National Assembly (AN), Jorge Rodríguez, in an official update on the seismic emergency.
In his address, Rodríguez highlighted that yesterday was rescued a minor thanks to the joint and coordinated work of international specialized teams and State professionals.
In this regard, the President of the Legislative Branch explained that in the affected zones remain active more than 4,000 personnel and international rescue workers, carrying out operations of debris removal to achieve to bring out alive the survivors.
Besides, he highlighted the presence of more than 26,000 officiers of the Venezuelan State, including members of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), the Bolivarian National Police (PNB), firefighters, and rescue workers, as well as the more than 17,000 volunteers deployed in the areas of logistics, camps, among others.
“Hope remains intact, and we will insist on keep searching for people that remain alive in the rubble,” he emphasized.
