President in Charge Delcy Rodríguez receives in Caracas leader of the US Disaster Relief and Rescue Team

The President in Charge of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, received in Caracas the leader of the United States Disaster Relief and Rescue Team (DART), Enn Magee, for a strategic meeting aimed at coordinating the immediate response following the double earthquake that struck on June 24.

During the technical work session, the authorities focused their efforts on three key lines of action to address the emergency: optimizing rescue operations, the effective distribution of humanitarian aid, and the integral logistics for establishing temporary camps.

The Dignitary in Charge was accompanied by the Minister of People’s Power for Interior Relations, Justice and Peace, Diosdado Cabello; the Vice President for Digital Government, Anabel Pereira; and the Vice President for Public Works and Services, Juan José Ramírez. and the Vice Minister for Europe and North America, Oliver Blanco. The high-level U.S. delegation also includes Chargé d’Affaires John M. Barrett; Deputy Commander of U.S. Northern Command (USNORTHCOM), Major General Kevin Jarrard; and Military Attaché Colonel Ian Murray, who are jointly evaluating contingency plans within the country.

With the articulation of this international cooperation mechanism, the National Government strengthens its field capabilities aimed strictly at expediting technical assistance and safeguarding the well-being of those families that were affected.
