President in Charge Delcy Rodríguez leads launching of the Great National Consultation for the Reform of the Criminal Justice System

President in Charge Delcy Rodríguez led this Monday, June 1, the launching of the Great National Consultation for the Reform of the Criminal Justice System.

In this journey was also present the Attorney General of the Republic, Larry Devoe. National. Likewise, were gathered national, state and municipal authorities to discuss this new judicial system in the country.

There, various leaders presented their arguments for improving and expanding said reform in the nation.

This consultation mechanism envisions a comprehensive deployment throughout the entire Venezuelan territory, which has been structured in circuits to facilitate the execution of simultaneous activities. This is how in each federal entity will be specific spaces designated for public debate and the diagnosis of local problems affecting the current criminal justice system.

In these work groups is expected to include the active participation of various members of the National Justice System, among which are included judges, public prosecutors, public defenders, and justices of the peace. These officials will coordinate efforts directly with organized communities, social movements, and representatives of civil society, with views to the construction of reform proposals.

The Great National Consultation on the Reform of the Criminal Justice System is an initiative convened by the President in Charge and its main objectives are to generate institutional solutions to the current situation
