Venezuelan Government denounces fake news from Spanish media against Acting President Delcy Rodríguez

The Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela strongly rejects and denies a new fake news operation spread by certain Spanish media outlets, which attempts to link in a malicious way Acting President Delcy Rodríguez to alleged and non-existent funding from Petróleos de Venezuela (PDVSA) to the Spanish Socialist Workers’ Party (PSOE).

These publications, based on statements attributed to businessman Víctor de Aldama before the Spanish National Court, allege without base that the Acting President provided information related to alleged irregular financing. The Venezuelan Government qualifies these accusations as false and of an extreme seriousness, designed to create a fictitious narrative that connects Spanish political leaders with international circuits of illegal financing.

In a specific manner, the National Executive denounces the false information published by the Spanish newspaper El País, which reproduces these unsubstantiated claims. Through its official account on X, “Miraflores Al Momento” (Miraflores Right Now), qualified the articles attempting to involve the Acting President in this imaginary scenario as completely false.

This media maneuver is framed within a systematic campaign of accumulating false and malicious news, intensified after the recent military attack of the US against Venezuelan territory on January 3, and the illegal kidnapping of Constitutional President Nicolás Maduro and the First Combatant Woman, Cilia Flores.

The Bolivarian Government warned on January 18 about this orchestrated campaign, whose clear objective is to build a path of slander to justify future aggressions against the physical and moral integrity of Acting President Delcy Rodríguez, and against Venezuelan institutions.

Venezuela reaffirms the transparency and legality of PDVSA’s operations and the National Government, and demands the immediate cessation of this media war based on falsehoods, which only seeks to damage the image of the country and its legitimate authorities.
