The President of the Republic, Nicolas Maduro, said this Thursday that Venezuela is ready for a new stage of fuel supply on the border with Colombia.
The information was given after a meeting with his Colombian counterpart, Juan Manuel Santos, in Puerto Ordaz, Bolivar state, where it was agreed the opening of the border in a gradual and orderly manner.
“We are ready for a new stage in what is the supply of fuel in the border zone, with the difficulties we have had. Let us try the new formulas”, said the Head of State.
He also stressed that the conditions are also ripe to sell fuel on the Colombian side, “Under the conditions that have been discussed, and in order to give a hard blow to smuggling”.
“We want everything to be is oriented towards a relationship that allows the full opening of the border to vehicular traffic, addressing this issue which is one of the most important ones affecting the border,” concluded the President.
