President Maduro: We will continue supporting Colombia in anything necessary to make peace


The President of the Republic, Nicolas Maduro, welcomed the peace agreement signed between the Government of Colombia and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia-People’s Army (FARC -EP) on Thursday.
In a statement to the media made from Havana Cuba, the Head of State expressed his satisfaction with “having accompanied a nice family that is South America”.
“This means to open the opportunity for the oldest armed conflict on the continent and in the world to be resolved and begin to move into building a culture of peace, because Colombia and Venezuela we are a single people”, he said.
The President also reiterated that in our country are living more than 5 million Colombian compatriots in all regions, and noted that many of them have talked to the Government expressing that they want to return to the place where they were born and from which they had to flee due to the armed conflict.
In this regard, he confirmed that Venezuela will continue to put its bit in everything needed to seal the final peace in the neighboring country, as it has done from day one with Commander Hugo Chavez when it was started the proposal for a dialogue.
