Petróleos de Venezuela (PDVSA) reports that its administrative systems were the target of a cyberattack aimed at disrupting its operations. The company emphatically rejects this attempted aggression, which is part of the United States government’s strategy to seize Venezuelan oil by force.

Thanks to the capability and rapid response of PDVSA’s specialized personnel, the impact was successfully contained. Operational and production areas were not affected, as the incident was limited to a portion of the administrative system.

The company immediately implemented its security and operational continuity protocols. Consequently, normalcy is guaranteed in all its operations, including:

The regular supply of products to the domestic market.

The full and timely fulfillment of all its export commitments.

PDVSA reaffirms its capacity to safeguard its assets and infrastructure and maintains its commitment to the country’s energy stability.

Following, the Communiqué:

Petróleos de Venezuela, S.A. (PDVSA) informs the Venezuelan people and the international community that the company was the target of a cyberattack aimed at halting its operations.

Thanks to the expertise of PDVSA’s human resources, operational areas were not affected; the attack was limited to its administrative system. Therefore, the industry’s operational continuity is maintained through the implementation of secure protocols that allow for its regular activities in supplying products to the domestic market, as well as fulfilling all its export commitments.

This attempted attack is part of the U.S. government’s public strategy to seize Venezuelan oil through force and piracy. The working class of the hydrocarbon industry has faced similar attacks in the past. It was precisely their commitment, expertise, and loyalty that allowed them to detect and neutralize this new attack.

Petróleos de Venezuela, S.A. categorically rejects this despicable act, orchestrated by foreign interests in collusion with unpatriotic actors seeking to undermine the country’s right to sovereign energy development. It is worth remembering that this is not the first time the United States government, allied with extremist sectors, has attempted to destabilize the nation and steal Christmas from the Venezuelan people.

Nothing and no one will stop the victorious march of PDVSA and its working class in service to all Venezuelans”.
