The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, denounced that the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) allocated resources to finance artists, influencers and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) with the aim of destabilizing and filling the Petare parish in the Sucre municipality of Miranda state with violence, according to Presidential Press:
“USAID financed influencers, artists and NGOs that joined criminal gangs to destabilize the entire Petare area”, denounced the head of state during the activation of the Peace Quadrants by Commune and Communal Circuits.
The criminal actions carried out by criminal groups, including the gang led by A.K.A. «El Wilexis,» were intended to turn Petare into a «popular focus of destabilization of the Greater Caracas.»
«The impact that these actions have had is direct on our communities,» said the head of State, while highlighting the importance of comprehensively confronting these attempts at destabilization.
This Friday, the National Government delivered vehicles and equipment to the 90 new Peace Quadrants in the Sucre municipality of Miranda state, with the purpose of continuing to guarantee and consolidate protection for the communities of Petare, La Dolorita, Leoncio Martínez, Mariches and Caucagüita, thanks to the popular-military-police fusion:
«With this strategy, I can tell USAID, those dollars were lost, because Petare is at peace and it is going for the better. Petare and the entire Sucre municipality,» he added.
