Vice President Rodríguez: We must defend the Homeland from technological imperialism

The executive vice president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, participated this Thursday in the V Extraordinary Plenary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), and during her presentation she urged to defend the Venezuelan Homeland against technological imperialism, and the international figures that lead the high concentrations of capital, and sharpen socioeconomic inequalities. In addition, she listed a series of points of interest for the national economic sphere:

We are in a period of high concentration of capital, concentrated capitals became larger during the pandemic,” said the vice president, who raised «the responsibility of defending our homeland from technological imperialism»; which is reflected through cyber attacks, such as the one suffered by the National Electoral Council during the 2024 elections, and disinformation attacks on social networks. Despite this, she assured that «the Venezuelan people stood up to defend the sovereignty and the will that they had planted at the ballot boxes.»

Recovery of workers’ income:

Vice President Rodríguez invoked the Plan of the 7 Transformations, conceived by the constitutional president, Nicolás Maduro, to accelerate the comprehensive development of the Venezuelan nation. Thus, she established the responsibility of the PSUV in consolidating the recovery of the comprehensive income of workers, «in a country where 99% of foreign currency income was lost, as a result of the criminal economic blockade,» she lamented. Even so, she celebrated that Venezuela’s income amounted to 7.5 billion dollars.

In this regard, she indicated that despite the fact that the economic blockade against Venezuela persists, «we are also very far from the year 2020.» However, she accused that unilateral coercive measures suppressed sectors such as industry, manufacturing, commerce and agriculture; «but this slow process of economic recovery has been improving everything,» as she clarified.

Strengthening economic engines:

She also raised the requirement to promote the growth of the mining sector, as well as the increase in the production of agricultural and maritime items: «We are going to strengthen the tourist engine to generate foreign currency for Venezuela with the extraordinary beauty of our country, which does not exist anywhere else on the planet,» she declared, in addition to proposing a policy of defense of the national industry, through norms, tariffs and para-tariffs.

«Today we have full supply, but Venezuela’s productive capacities still have a long way to go,» said Rodriguez. She also pointed out the work of the Bolivarian Government to democratize credit, because «the formalities that exist in banking» prevent social sectors such as fishermen, communes, and farmers from obtaining affordable loans. In response, funds were created for coffee growers, farmers, a policy for public purchasing of fishermen and farmers, and redirection of financial income.

Meanwhile, in the global financial panorama, Venezuela joins the geopolitical agents that drive the future multipolar world: «In the decade between 2040 and 2050 the world will be different from the one we are knowing, and Venezuela is on the right path of its commercial, geopolitical and economic alliances,» clarified Rodríguez. In the field of tax collection, the executive vice president assured that «we will have to apply Artificial Intelligence to the service of good.»

The human city:

«A human city, housing must be the habitat space for the Venezuelan family to feel and expand its loving spirituality with its loved ones, so that the public space collects the deepest aspirations of human beings,» she inquired. «It is a concept of good living and that is what transformation should be about, that it has essential public services,» said the vice president, who also explained that the budgets for these projects arise from cartography and social investment.

In addition, for citizen security, she pointed out the need to consolidate the Peace Quadrants and dismantle criminal gangs, as the Bolivarian Government recently achieved, by suppressing the group led by Wuileisys Acevedo, a.k.a. “Wilexis”. While territorial integrity is also added to the government guidelines, whose main current objective is the defense of the Essequibo Guayana, «which is ours, we are the owners of that territory,» explained Rodríguez.

«Long live the PSUV, long live Venezuela, long live Commander Chávez and President Nicolás Maduro!» said the member of the national Executive Branch at the end of her presentation.
