President Nicolás Maduro addressed the relations between Venezuela and Brazil, during an interview with the journalist and political analyst, Breno Altman, to whom he declared that Venezuela rules out a crisis with Brazil and advocates for regional cooperation:
“There has been no crisis with Brazil, there is no crisis, and there will be no crisis”, the President emphasized, after explaining that the current discrepancies are merely administrative and are limited to the foreign ministries and advisors of both countries.
“The obligation of President Lula and President Nicolás Maduro is to understand each other, for our countries”, he stressed during this interview.
The Venezuelan president stressed that the current geopolitical context demands a focus on cooperation and brotherhood between Brazil and Venezuela: “We must turn the page and see the new scenario of world geopolitics, the situation of Our Americas and prioritize relations between Brazil and Venezuela”, he said.
Along these lines, he stressed the need to move towards peaceful and productive relations.
He also detailed the growing interest of Brazilian investors in key sectors of the Venezuelan economy, such as oil, gas, petrochemicals, energy and tourism:
“If you knew the number of investors who are coming from Brazil to Venezuela, in oil, gas, petrochemicals, energy, tourism. We have that path laid out”, he said.
Regarding communication between the governments, the Venezuelan president assured that his foreign minister, Yvan Gil, maintains fluid and permanent contact with his Brazilian counterpart, Mauro Vieira.
“The only way, the only path, we are destined is to understand each other, for Latin America, for the Caribbean, for peace and for the development of our countries”, said the Venezuelan head of state.
