During his annual message to the nation, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro announced the creation of the Ministry of Foreign Trade, to develop the country’s export vocation:
«We have recovered the productive capacities of the country. We are able to continue growing and develop, even more, our national productive apparatus,» said President Maduro.
From the Teresa Carreño Theater, in Caracas, the head of State appointed the experienced diplomat and former vice minister for Europe, Coromoto Godoy, as minister of this new portfolio.

«If at any time a governing body of ministerial rank linked to the economic cabinet is needed, this is the time,» concluded the president.
